The Pru East Constituency celebrated teachers’ awards on Tuesday, 14th October, 2025, as Member of Parliament Hon. Emmanuel Kwaku Boam recognized and rewarded seven dedicated educators for their tireless efforts.

“This awards ceremony is a fulfilment of part of that promise. It is my way of saying to every teacher and educational worker in this constituency: I see you, I value you, I appreciate you, and I am committed to supporting you, ” he stated.

Emmanuel Kwaku Boam has consistently demonstrated his commitment to championing quality education in Pru East.

Through his initiatives, he has organized serveral mock examinations, donated teaching and learning materials, provided scholarships, and supported teacher welfare.

These efforts, undertaken even before he became a Member of Parliament, are a testament to his dedication to improving education in the constituency.

The Pru East inaugurated “Hon. Lord Boam’s Best Education Worker Award at Yeji AstroTurf in Bono East Region to mark a milestone in the district’s history.

The event was attended by prominent dignitaries, including the District Education Director, Mr. Sylvester Tabiasi-Naa, Pru East DCE, Hon. Abdul Nassir Dauda, and the Bono East Regional Education Director, Nana Kugbeadzor-Bakateyi.

Hon. Boam presented impressive gifts to the awardees, including a brand-new motorbike, a modern fridge, smart TVs, and bicycles.

Mr. Mohammed Sina of Yeji Senior High School received the overall best prize

The other awardees areMadam Hidaya Zakari of Nurul Islam Primary School, Mr. Charles Ampong of Yeji Presby Primary School, Mr. Tsamenyi Wisdom from AccraTown D/A Primary School, Madam Kpodo Rita- Sawaaba D/A JHS, Mr. Yussif Gyempeh- Pru East District Education Office and Mr. Kamal Mohammed from Pru East District Education Office.

In his address, Hon. Boam reaffirmed his commitment to improving education in the district and announced the establishment of a scholarship policy for both teachers and students who want to further their education to become teachers, which has already benefited 20 individuals.

He indicated that the scholarship comes with conditions where applicants will require signing a bond committing to return back to Pru East to teach.

Hon. Boam assured the teachers of continued support, highlighting their crucial role in shaping future leaders.

“I will work closely with the Ghana Education Service and the Ministry of Education to make sure that capable teachers from Pru East who want to serve in their own communities are given the opportunity to do so,” Lord Boam stressed.

According to the Pru East MP, the move can build a corps of committed educators who have a deep connection to the communities they serve.

Emmanuel Kwaku Boam also emphasized the need to improve educational infrastructure and pledged to work towards achieving this goal.

He cited the need to improve education infrastructure, especially in rural areas.

“I want to take it upon myself, aside from government interventions, to liaise with stakeholders in such deprived communities to address this challenge”

“I will work with traditional leaders, community members, parents, school authorities, and potential partners to develop sustainable solutions for teachers’ accommodation,” he said.

Hon. Boam expressed his keen interest in supporting the government’s agenda of establishing school farms to boost agricultural production and create sustainable income sources for schools.

“I want to personally help push and accomplish that agenda in Pru East. School farms serve multiple purposes: they provide practical agricultural training, produce food for school feeding programmes, generate income for school development, and instil in students a respect for agriculture and entrepreneurship” he told the gathering.

The awardees expressed gratitude for the recognition and appreciation, with one recipient stating, “This gesture motivates us to do more” he said.
