Reverend Dr Lawson Kwaku Dzanku, the Clerk of the General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, has said ‘Prophets’ predicting the outcome of Ghana’s Election 2024, were only using psychology, playing on the intellect of Ghanaians.

He said such ‘Prophets’ expected God to work into their plans.

Rev Dr Dzanku was reacting to the conflicting prophecies by different ‘Prophets’ on the elections when he granted the Ghana News Agency an interview in Ho.

“Ghanaian Prophets are speaking their minds and not the mind of God, and they do not care whether it comes to pass or not,” he said.

The Church Clerk noted that God was not a confused God or a liar to reveal something to one Prophet and reveal a different one to another.

He said such conflicting prophecies could undermine the country’s peace and security and warned such ‘Prophets’ that it was not their business to foretell the outcome of elections.

“Declaration of the election result is the prerogative of the Electoral Commission (EC), so those Prophets should keep their mouths shut and leave the EC to announce the election result based on the decision of the people and not falsehood,” he advised.

He urged Ghanaians to desist from listening to those charlatans who paraded themselves as Prophets with falsehood.

Rev Dr Dzanku advised political parties not to get carried away by the “so called revelation of the outcome of the election from God,” adding that God would not declare two people as winners of one contest.

He encouraged Ghanaians to go to the polls in their numbers to exercise their franchise and ensure that peace prevailed before, during and after the elections.

The Clerk noted that if care was not taken “the men of God” who were supposed to be peace builders would put the country in flames with their false prophecies.

He advised religious leaders to be circumspect with their utterances.

He urged the media not to give these charlatans their platforms to propagate their falsehoods.
