Ghanaian songstress Wendy Shay has showered praises on Dancehall musician Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, for being the only person who believed in her during the early days of her career.
In a video shared on X after Shatta Wale‘s birthday concert, dubbed Shatta Fest, on October 18, 2025, Wendy Shay recounted how industry gatekeepers didn’t believe in her dream when she started music.
Wendy explained that almost every industry person doubted her dream and doubted that she would excel in her music career.
However, according to Wendy Shay, the “On God” singer was the only one who believed in her dream, adding that Shatta Wale prophesied greatness into her career.
“Many people doubted I would succeed in the music industry, including radio presenters, pundits, and Twitter boys who said Wendy Shay won’t make it. But then, I met one man, a prophet.
“His name is Prophet Shatta Wale, and he prophesied over my life. And now I am the boss,” she said.

Her comments were met with cheers and applause from the ecstatic crowd, which had come to celebrate Shatta Wale’s 41st birthday with him.
Aside from Wendy Shay, various artistes, including Samini, Tinny, Kelvynboy, Jupita, and many others, graced the stage.
Shatta Wale, the man of the moment, ended the show with his typical energetic and charged atmospheric performances, bringing a satisfying ending to a much-anticipated event.
