The arrest of outspoken prophet Fire Oja over remarks targeting musician Mzbel has taken a new turn, with fresh details emerging about how the case unfolded and its current status.
Mzbel had earlier revealed that the Ghana Police Service picked up Fire Oja after he made what she described as defamatory claims about her health and spiritual life. The prophet had publicly alleged that the singer was gravely ill and had been admitted to a hospital in Kasoa.
Fire Oja went further to claim that Mzbel survived the illness through divine intervention. He also accused her of later announcing online that she had engaged in soul travel, warning her followers to distance themselves from her, suggesting she could mislead them spiritually.
Those comments sparked public backlash and prompted police action, leading to his arrest and detention as investigations began.

In a new development shared on social media on January 6, 2025, Mzbel disclosed that the prophet has since admitted wrongdoing and issued an apology. She explained that Fire Oja was taken into custody and was expected to remain there for up to 48 hours while police handled the matter.
According to her account, after she left the Police CID Headquarters, officers later contacted her to inform her that Fire Oja had pleaded guilty to all the allegations brought against him and had apologized for his statements.
Mzbel also revealed that the controversial prophet has been granted bail following his admission of guilt. She noted that he is expected to appear before a court in the coming days as the legal process continues.
She added that his detention was solely to support ongoing investigations, stressing that there was no justification for keeping him at the police headquarters for an extended period once he had cooperated fully and accepted responsibility for his actions.
