Prophet Fire Oja, head pastor of Zion Prayer Ministries International, has denied reports that he was taken into custody by the Ghana Police Service.
Posting on his official Facebook page on January 6, 2026, Fire Oja said he was “still chillin’ at home” and called the arrest claims “fake.”
“Still chillin’ at home yesterday and today, vibin’ life, and ppl are runnin’ wild with fake news, sayin’ I’m in cells. I have never been arrested,” he wrote.
Despite the pastor’s statement, some social media users questioned whether the post was actually from him or a representative. Others urged him to go live on video to put the rumours to rest.

Fire Oja was reportedly arrested on January 5, 2026, over allegations of making defamatory remarks about musician Mzbel.
The pastor had alleged that Mzbel had been ill, hospitalized in Kasoa, and had practiced ‘soul travel’ after recovering.
Mzbel shared on Instagram that she had reported the claims to the police, which led to Fire Oja’s arrest.
