Gospel singer and preacher Sonnie Badu has emphasised the importance of prioritising one’s parents, describing it as a “fortune of blessing” for both the child and the parents.

In a heartwarming video shared on Instagram on November 28, 2024, Sonnie Badu encouraged fellow musicians to avoid hiding their parents from the public and to make them a central part of their lives.

He advised them not to only showcase their parents when they are all dressed up and glammed at events, but also to share casual, everyday moments with them at home, stating that those little moments also matter.

He made these statements while sharing a video of himself singing and dancing with his parents, expressing gratitude for their unwavering support throughout his career.

“I can’t remember the last time I had to hide my parents or dress them up just to impress people at a function. No, no, no, they have been behind me from the very beginning. They are my secret weapon, always with me for my concerts, and they have truly blessed me.

“To all musicians out there: EMULATE THIS. Let your parents be your PRIORITY, and watch how God blesses you just as He has blessed me. Mum and Dad, thank you for everything you’ve done for me,” he said.
