Ghanaian forward Prince Osei Owusu has revealed his ambition to represent the Ghana national football team at a major international tournament following his recent debut for the West African nation.

The 29-year-old striker, who captains CF Montréal, earned his first senior appearance for Ghana during the Kirin Cup in November last year. He is expected to be included in the Black Stars squad for upcoming international friendlies against Germany national football team and Austria national football team later this month.

The matches are expected to help head coach Otto Addo assess players ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted in North America.

Speaking in an interview, Owusu described the opportunity to represent Ghana as a dream come true and a proud moment for both himself and his family. The forward also recalled celebrating the New Year in Ghana with relatives, describing the experience as special.

Owusu hopes to impress the Black Stars technical team during the March international break while continuing his strong club form. The striker finished last season as Montréal’s top scorer with 13 goals in Major League Soccer and recently opened his scoring account for the new campaign in a victory over New York Red Bulls.

Before switching allegiance to Ghana, Owusu had represented Germany national under-21 football team at youth level.
