The official launch of President John Dramani Mahama‘s ‘No Fees Stress’ policy is currently underway at Koforidua Technical University.

The initiative, a flagship campaign promise from the 2024 elections, is designed to ease the financial burden on tertiary students and improve access to higher education across Ghana, particularly for students from low-income backgrounds.

The ‘No Fees Stress’ policy seeks to eliminate upfront fees for eligible tertiary students, allowing them to pursue their studies without financial barriers. It forms part of President Mahama’s broader agenda to promote equitable educational opportunities and reduce student dropouts due to financial constraints.

The programme is expected to benefit tens of thousands of students in its initial phase, with plans for expansion in the coming years.
