Former President John Dramani Mahama has expressed admiration for popular comedian Akabenezer, commending the actor for his creativity and humour that continue to bring joy to many Ghanaians.
In a video shared on X by CDR Africa on October 25, 2025, Akabenezer was seen warmly welcoming President Mahama at the Prempeh International Airport in Kumasi.
During the brief interaction, the comedian extended a special invitation to the former President to attend his upcoming stage play, ‘Akwaaba Vs Obaake’.
Known as the “King of Kumasi,” Akabenezer performed at the 2025 Rapperholic concert.
President Mahama, who was in Kumasi for an official engagement, appeared visibly delighted by the gesture and lauded Akabenezer for his entertaining content, noting that the comedian’s work never fails to make him laugh.
With his intense humour and captivating skits, Akabenezer, also known as Dr Likee, shot to fame with the ‘Boys Abre’ TV series and subsequently featured in tons of Kumawood movies.
Blending satire with relatable storytelling, Akabenezer has earned massive recognition as one of Ghana’s most versatile and impactful comedians.
