Port City have been officially crowned champions of the Access Bank Division One League Zone Three following a thrilling 3-2 victory over WAFA SC in their Matchday 28 clash.
The newly promoted side, who had already sealed qualification to the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League with three matches to spare, delivered another strong performance in front of their home fans to confirm their dominance at the top.
WAFA SC took an early lead in the 12th minute through Sylvester Henyo, but Port City responded quickly as Kedzie Korblah Junior converted from the penalty spot to restore parity. The hosts then seized control of the contest, with Alex Boateng putting them ahead before captain Hamza Zakaria extended the advantage to 3-1 in the 61st minute.
WAFA attempted a late comeback when Melchizedek Frimpong reduced the deficit in the 76th minute, but Port City held firm to secure all three points and spark celebrations at full time.
The victory marks a historic milestone for the club, as they clinch the Zone Three title and prepare for their maiden appearance in the Ghana Premier League next season.
