Oheneba Boamah, Broadcast journalist

Oheneba Boamah, a popular broadcast journalist aligned with the ruling NDC has called on the party’s leadership to pay close attention to the Forestry Commission after he was denied the position of Public Relations Officer (PRO) at the Commission.

Narrating the events that led to his missed opportunity, he cited Dr Hugh Brown, CEO of the commission, as the person who allegedly blocked him from getting the position.

In a snippet from the ‘Gumbe’ show circulating on Tiktok, Oheneba Boamah is seen venting his frustration over this development.

“We wanted to be placed at the administration of the Forestry Commission. So, we called Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah. He was out of the country. So, he said, he will meet us on his return and indeed he met us in his office.

“He called the Forestry Commission’s office and spoke to the head of HR and asked us to go see him.

“He first called the HR and followed up with a call to the CEO Dr Hugh Brown and told him that he has sent two party faithful to him. They’ve worked tirelessly for the party so they’re coming for placement as PROs at the commission.

According to Boamah, when he went to the office with his colleague, the HR received them well, but Dr Brown allegedly ignored them after they had waited hours for him.

“So, we went to the head of Human Resources. The man is so good. In fact, other party members came to see him while we were there. Then we went to see the CEO. We sat there for hours but we were told he was in a meeting.

“On his return to the office he was swarmed by officers who had come to present reports and documents so we patiently waited outside. When he was done engaging all the people, he briefly stepped out to look around, headed straight to his car and sped off,” Oheneba Boamah recounted.

According to Oheneba, he and his colleagues who made that trip have not heard from the commission to date.

“Later I heard that one female party bigwig has warned that if the position of Dr Brown is threatened because of me, I would regret what she would do to me, ” he said.

Oheneba Boamah has subsequently made a call to leaders of the party to closely monitor the happenings at the Forestry Commission.
