The Police National Football Club (PNFC) intensified preparations ahead of the decisive phase of the ongoing Division One League with a commanding 7–3 victory over Bassanyin SC in a friendly match played on Thursday January 8, 2026, at the Tarkwa Estates Astro Turf.

The encounter, which kicked off at 8:00 a.m. and concluded at 10:20 a.m., was played without incident and provided both sides with valuable competitive exposure.

Bassanyin SC, a Division Two club based in Tarkwa, offered spirited resistance but PNFC’s superior attacking depth and organization proved decisive over the course of the match.

PNFC thrilled spectators with an exciting brand of attacking football, showcasing fluid movement, quick transitions and clinical finishing.

The team’s ability to create and convert chances consistently kept Bassanyin SC under pressure, resulting in seven goals in a high-tempo contest that remained engaging throughout.

Despite conceding, Bassanyin SC demonstrated resilience and capitalized on their own attacking opportunities to score three goals, adding to the competitive nature of the friendly.

The friendly forms part of PNFC’s ongoing technical and tactical build-up as the club sharpens its squad for the final round of matches in the first round of the Division One League.

The coaching staff expressed satisfaction with the players’ work rate, coordination and overall goal-scoring efficiency, noting that the match offered important insights ahead of the resumption of competitive fixtures.

PNFC will now turn its focus to fine-tuning strategies and maintaining momentum as league action approaches.
