A Nigerian lady has taken to X (Twitter) to warn internet users about using their phones near open flames after losing a relative.

The user who identified as @madukoko shared that her cousin had lost his life after using his devices near a cooking gas which was situated outdoors.

The lady who appeared to have had doubts about the myth that ‘using your phone near a cooking gas could cause a fire or explosion’ warned people against making such a mistake after confirming that it could happen.

Her tweets read;

Please don’t carry your phones near open flame I just lost my cousin this morning. Thank you. It was a cooking gas incident, I feel everyone should be aware of the dangers by now. It’s all very true”
