Ghana winger Kamaldeen Sulemana has described representing the Black Stars as the realisation of a lifelong ambition, saying it remains one of the proudest achievements of his career.

Speaking at his official unveiling after completing a move from Southampton to Italian Serie A side Atalanta, Sulemana highlighted his excitement at the opportunity to compete at the highest level in Europe.

“Atalanta gives me big competitions in Europe. If I am able to do my job here and play well, that gives me a big role to play in Ghana,” he said.

Despite limited appearances for the Black Stars in recent months, having started just once since September 2023, Sulemana remains confident of reclaiming a regular place in the team.

“Every single time I am selected for the national team, it is a proud moment for me and my family. That’s what I dreamt of when I was young. I always wanted to play at the World Cup and the African Cup.”

The 22-year-old, who has 20 caps for the national team, hopes to rediscover his best form in Italy as he eyes a spot in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali this September.
