The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has condemned the racial abuse against Black Stars striker Antoine Semenyo in England.

The abuse occurred on Friday night when Liverpool hosted AFC Bournemouth at Anfield in the opening fixture of the 2025/26 English Premier League season.

Today, the PFAG, in a statement, has condemned the abuse, assuring Antoine Semenyo of their readiness to assist and support him.

“On behalf of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG), we stand in unwavering solidarity with Antoine Semenyo following the racist abuse he endured during Bournemouth’s Premier League opener at Anfield on 15 August 2025.

“PFAG unequivocally condemns racism in all its forms. Racist behavior has no place in football—or in society. We commend the swift action by Merseyside Police, who arrested a 47-year-old suspect on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offense, and the ongoing investigation by the Premier League and other authorities,” PFAG said in its statement shared on Facebook.

It added, “To Antoine: your courage continues to inspire. PFAG stands with you, ready to offer any assistance or support you may need. We also use this moment to urge football clubs, governing bodies, fans, and communities to continue working together to eradicate racism from the beautiful game once and for all.”

In the statement, the Association said it admires how Semenyo responded, demonstrating extraordinary strength and composure by continuing to play and scoring two brilliant goals against Liverpool.
