Some unknown persons suspected to be operatives of the National Security have been captured on video assaulting staff of the Ministry of Energy on the morning of Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Kasoa Amanfrom.

The incident was captured in exclusive footage sighted by The1957News circulating on social media.

According to eyewitness accounts, staff of the Ministry of Energy were travelling from Kasoa to their office in an official bus when they encountered a pickup truck parked dangerously close to the middle of the road, making it difficult for the bus to safely join the main highway.

Eyewitnesses say that as the Ministry’s bus eventually exited onto the main road, a staff member alerted the pickup truck driver that the vehicle had been wrongly parked. Moments later, the pickup truck allegedly gave chase at top speed, overtaking and crossing the Ministry bus, forcing the driver to take evasive action to avoid a collision. The pickup is said to have crossed the bus a second time shortly afterwards.

Video footage from the scene shows occupants of the pickup truck, believed to be National Security personnel, attacking some of the Ministry staff through the windows of the bus. The assailants were later seen forcibly boarding the bus and assaulting several occupants.

In the course of the incident, three people, including the bus driver, were reportedly assaulted. One staff member was allegedly dragged off the bus and taken away by the attackers. As of the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of the staff member remain unknown.

The incident has sparked widespread public concern following the circulation of the footage on social media, with growing calls for a thorough investigation into the alleged assault and the true identity of those involved. Civil society groups and members of the public are urging the relevant authorities to swiftly address the matter and ensure accountability.
