Dentaa Amoateng, CEO of GUBA Enterprise, has highlighted the ongoing financial challenges that continue to hinder creative and cultural initiatives, citing a persistent sponsorship drought as a major obstacle to growth both in Africa and the diaspora.
Speaking on Starr Chat with Bola Ray on Thursday, 11 December 2025, she admitted that the struggle for sponsorship remains one of the toughest obstacles she has dealt with in her years of building large-scale projects and international events.
“One of the things we struggle with, even today, is finding sponsorship,” Dentaa said.
“There have been times I want to give up because you’re tired of always begging. People don’t see the value, or you’re going to the same sponsors all the time. And God bless them for sponsoring us all the time, but it is like there’s no other sponsor that you can tap into.”
Despite the ongoing challenges, Dentaa remains resolute about the importance of persistence and innovation in sustaining creative ventures, underscoring the need for broader support from both private and public sectors to ensure the sector’s growth.
