Guardiola has named Arsenal as the best team in the world

Pep Guardiola has proclaimed Arsenal as the best team in the world, backing up his claim with the Gunners’ dominance across domestic and European competitions in the 2025/2026 season.

The Manchester City manager was full of admiration when assessing Mikel Arteta’s side, pointing to their consistency in the Premier League and their flawless run in Europe as proof of their current status.

Arsenal lead the league by seven points, have won all seven of their Champions League matches, and are well placed in both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

“Absolutely. They are the best team in the world. Winning in the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup,” Guardiola said at his press conference.

Guardiola’s men are yet to win a league game in 2026. But the City boss backed his “extraordinary” group of players to respond as they remain in contention for silverware in four competitions.

Despite City’s slow start, Guardiola expressed confidence in his own squad’s ability to respond.

“I have an extraordinary team, an extraordinary group of players. And we are all together. We are a fantastic football team, I don’t have any doubts about that,” he added.
