Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has reaffirmed his endorsement of the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, ahead of the 2024 general elections.

According to him, he worked with the NPP flagbearer in the past, especially during his presidency, and can attest to his prowess in handling the affairs of the country.

The former president stated that even though he has been criticized for advocating for Dr. Bawumia, he does not regret his decision and still urges Ghanaians to vote for the NPP.

Addressing the general public on Sunday, November 17, 2024, Kufuor stated that with the hardship the whole world is grappling with, Dr. Bawumia will be the ideal person to make an impact.

“I really love him, and I have said recently, which some people don’t seem to agree with. I have observed a lot of things and I see that that man, looking at how things are going in the current world, if we give him the chance to lead the nation, with God’s blessings, he will help Ghana to rise early and make things better,” he said.

It must be stated that recently, the former president admonished Ghanaians to vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the general elections because he is the right person to lead the nation.

He has also faced criticism from some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who feel he should desist from campaigning for any presidential candidate.

Meanwhile, the general elections are slated for December 7, 2024.
