THE government has set October 16, 2026, as the target date for the payment of the first tranche of salary arrears owed teachers who were promoted but have not received their corresponding salaries.
The target date follows the validation of at least 51,000 promotion records by the Ghana Education Service (GES) and their submission to the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) by 4 p.m. yesterday.
