Months after one of the most painful family betrayals in modern football, AS Monaco midfielder, Paul Pogba has publicly signaled forgiveness for his brothers.

The French midfielder, who was at the centre of a shocking extortion case involving his elder brother Mathias and childhood friends, shared warm posts on Instagram that suggest reconciliation is underway.

In December 2024, a Paris court sentenced Mathias Pogba to three years in prison, with two suspended, for his role in an attempted extortion scheme against his younger brother.

The case sent shockwaves through French football: Pogba testified that he was ambushed, held at gunpoint by masked men with assault rifles, and pressured to pay €13 million.

Mathias later inflamed tensions with videos accusing Pogba of hypocrisy, even alleging that he had turned to witchcraft against French teammate Kylian Mbappé.

At the time, the relationship between the Pogba brothers seemed broken beyond repair. However, on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, Pogba appeared to draw a line under the feud.

In an Instagram story, he posted a video call with his brothers, followed by a picture of all three together with the caption: “Longue vie à mes frères”, “Long life to my brothers.”

Pogba did not address the past directly, nor did he revisit the court case or the spiritual accusations. Instead, he framed the moment around family unity, signalling that maybe he has now forgiven his brothers.
