CAF president, Patrice Motsepe
Renowned South African football administrator Patrice Motsepe has been re-elected to serve another term as the president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The 63-year-old’s re-election was a formality, as he ran unopposed in the elections held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, in Cairo, Egypt.
Motsepe has served in the highest office since 2021 and announced his intention to run for a second term in October 2024.
Following his re-election, he has been granted another four years to continue his ambitious project of rebuilding African football and elevating the continent to the highest level in the sport.
During his first term, he oversaw two phenomenal AFCON tournaments, which generated remarkable viewership and revenue.
His re-election, therefore, signifies confidence in his vision for African football.
