Pastor John Wesley Amenuku Agble, founder of the Apostolic Recovery Movement, has slammed businessman, Daniel McKorley, over his recent comments that Ghanaians are overzealous in religion.

Daniel McKorley, founder of the McDan Group, had earlier stated in his discourse on selected media platforms that Ghanaians tend to focus more on religious activities than work and productivity.

However, the Founder of the Apostolic Recovery Movement, has vehemently rejected the assertion, highlighing the contribution of religious institutions to development in the country.

“Bad leadership is the problem of Ghana, not religion. Containers of ECG cables go missing but that is not the problem of Ghana; it is the prayer that people go to pray at Jericho Hour that is the problem. I don’t blame you,” he lamented.

He cited the rot uncovered in the School Feeding Programme as one of the evidences of greed and bad leadership causing the woes of the nation.

“When I hear some of the corruption perpetrated in the country, I wonder if these people are human beings. And he (McDan) goes about saying the church is a problem. I said, look at this man oo… You want to attack prayer. I don’t blame him.

“Look at the church’s contribution to the development of Ghana. Check most of the secondary schools. Are they not mission schools? We have universities that are built by churches. Is that not adding to the development of the nation?” he quizzed.

He went on to list the church’s contribution to the health sector, technology, and agriculture, citing the efforts of Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka in that regard.

He pointed to the bad leadership of successive governments as the cause of Ghana’s struggles, not religion.
