The Appointments Committee of Parliament will commence vetting sessions for President John Dramani Mahama‘s latest ministerial nominees on Thursday, January 23, 2025.

The vetting processes, which are scheduled to begin on January 23, will conclude on Monday, January 27, 2025.

This information was outlined in a memorandum to the Parliamentary Press Corps dated January 17, 2025.

The memorandum also urged members of the Press Corps to attend the sessions and provide media coverage.

“The Appointment Committee will hold a meeting for Vetting of Ministers from Thursday, 23rd to Monday, January 27, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. at the Committee Rooms 1, 2 & 3, New Administration Block, to consider H.E. President’s nominees for Regional Ministerial appointments.

“I therefore write, to request for media coverage by members of the Parliamentary Press Corps,” it stated.

On Monday, January 13, 2025, the president’s first set of ministerial nominees — Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Minister of Finance designate; John Abdulai Jinapor, Minister of Finance designate; and Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, Attorney-General and Minister of Justice designate — were vetted.

The vetting sessions aim to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the nominees’ qualifications, experiences, and suitability for regional ministerial roles as well as other key ministerial positions.
