DKB defended the NDC MPs after the incident in Parliament DKB defended the NDC MPs after the incident in Parliament

Popular Ghanaian comedian, DKB, has defended the NDC majority in Parliament following a series of incidents that occurred on the floor of Parliament on December 9, 2025.

This came after a social media user, reacting to videos of MPs from opposing sides pushing and shoving, argued that Ghanaians had erred by electing an overwhelming majority to Parliament, insisting that such dominance undermines consensus-building.

The user called for a hung parliament, a situation where no party controls more than half of the seats.

However, DKB, an outspoken supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), responded on X, asserting that despite its numbers, the NDC Majority remains “lenient.”

“The most lenient majority I’ve ever seen in the world. Other parliaments would have changed 80% of the constitution by now. Say thank you to them,” DKB replied.

The brouhaha began after the members of the Minority Caucus engaged in noise-making to disrupt government business as a form of protest over the declaration of the Kpandai parliamentary seat as vacant, a decision the Minority maintains is unlawful and procedurally flawed.

Despite the Speaker’s attempts to proceed, Minority MPs intensified their protest, rising from their seats, marching into the middle of the chamber and chanting in opposition.

The sudden movement triggered a chaotic confrontation, with MPs from both sides pushing and shoving each other at the centre of the floor.

The incident has since been met with backlash from netizens who have criticised parliamentarians for what they term as unprofessional behaviour.
