Parliament has approved the appointment of Buem Member of Parliament, Kofi Adams as the minister of Sports and Recreation.

The new minister of Sports was appointed by President John Dramani Mahama to the position in January.

He was vetted by the Appointments Committee of Parliament last week where he addressed various issues and assured of his determination to develop sports holistically.

A report of the Appointment Committee on the vetting of Kofi Adams was laid before Parliament and adopted by the House on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 .

Subsequently, Parliament approved the Appointment of Kofi Adams, paving the way for him to be sworn into office by President John Dramani Mahama to begin work as minister of Sports and Recreation in the new government.

While he prepares to take office at the Ministry, he has been advised to be cautious, especially with the football sector.

Adams in an earlier interview, noted that although he will be looking at developing football, other sporting disciplines will be equally prioritised.
