A Paris labour court has ordered Paris Saint-Germain to pay Kylian Mbappe around €60 million in unpaid wages and bonuses, marking a significant development in the long-running legal dispute between the player and his former club.

The ruling, delivered on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, followed months of court proceedings after Mbappe accused PSG of withholding his salary for April, May and June 2024, as well as other contractual payments, shortly before he left the club to join Real Madrid on a free transfer.

The court found that PSG failed to pay three months of salary, an ethics bonus and a signing bonus owed under the terms of his contract.

Mbappe’s lawyer, Frederique Cassereau, welcomed the decision, stating that the outcome was consistent with French labour law when wages go unpaid.

Judges noted that previous rulings by the French Professional Football League in September and October 2024 had already recognised the sums as due, and said PSG failed to provide written proof that Mbappe had agreed to waive the payments.

However, the court dismissed several additional claims brought by the France international, including allegations of moral harassment, concealed work and breaches of employer safety obligations. PSG’s counter-arguments that Mbappe should forfeit his unpaid wages entirely were also rejected.

The judges ruled that Mbappe’s fixed-term contract could not be treated as a permanent one, limiting any further compensation related to dismissal or notice pay.

PSG had accused Mbappe of acting in bad faith by not revealing his intention to leave earlier, thereby denying the club a potential transfer fee, but those claims were dismissed.

PSG are expected to appeal the decision.
