Papa Shee is a Ghanaian musician who was accused of hiring protesters

A member of the Parkoso family, Mama China, has denied claims that musician Papa Shee hired people to protest against Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu in court.

Speaking to the media on November 25, 2025, she addressed the ongoing tensions surrounding the chiefs and the internal disagreements within the family.

According to her, the family has no authority to challenge decisions made by the traditional leaders.

“If the chiefs (Nananom) have decided on the date, who are we to disagree? Together with my siblings, family, Parkoso, and Akosua, we sincerely apologise to them. We do not have the authority to change a date. What we made was simply a plea,” she said.

Mama China explained that when the family reconsidered their stance, they followed the appropriate processes.

“When we had a change of mind, we presented the matter to Nana Dadeɛso Abahene, but he explained that he could not sit on the case alone.

“He therefore referred us to Nana Saamanhene, who also stated that they could not act because the chiefs were not yet present. As it stands, we are waiting for their return before any final decision can be made,” she shared.

Addressing accusations that Papa Shee organised youths to cause chaos, she expressed strong disapproval and disappointment.

“The youth who came know what they did. I cannot even sleep for two hours because I feel disgraced. In a matter of seconds, Parkoso’s image has been tarnished. Why should the family be disgraced like this?” she noted.

She emphasized that neither the family nor Papa Shee would ever hire people to damage property or cause disorder.

“I had travelled, and upon my return, I was told Parkoso was being disgraced because of the actions of the youth. Why would we ever do such a thing? Hire people to come and destroy property? That is something we can never do,” she stated.

Mama China added, “All we want is to give Daddy Lumba a proper burial so that everything will be resolved peacefully.”
