Papa Shee condemns ‘side chicks’ during a market evangelism, calls for support for Akosua Serwaa
Evangelist Papa Shee, formerly a Highlife musician, has drawn attention after preaching against “side chicks” at a market while publicly supporting Daddy Lumba’s first wife, Akosua Serwaa.
In a video circulating on TikTok, Papa Shee, dressed in his signature all-white kaftan, stood atop a speaker as shoppers passed by, delivering a sermon condemning women involved in secret affairs with married men or men in committed relationships.
He described such women as daughters of “the devil” and “Jezebel” from the Bible and criticised societal practices that promote promiscuity.

Preaching at the market, Papa Shee urged people to support only Akosua Serwaa in the ongoing legal battle, warning that anyone backing others, “side chicks”, aligns with evil.
Papa Shee clarified that he held no personal resentment but believed that people must acknowledge their wrongdoings and seek forgiveness.
He also recounted the wedding of Daddy Lumba and Akosua Serwaa, urging those who support “side chicks” to repent.
“People have publicly thrown their support behind teams A and B. You don’t have to support anybody apart from team A. Team A is Mama Akosua Serwaa. Team B is for the children of Satan. Anyone who supports team B is a child of the devil. Anybody who supports side chicks is a devil,” he said.
The sermon comes amid an ongoing feud in the late highlife legend’s family following his death. Disputes have centered on which of his two wives, Akosua Serwaa and Odo Broni, should perform the widowhood rites at his funeral.
Akosua Serwaa and Daddy Lumba’s elder sister, Ernestina Fosu, filed a lawsuit against Odo Broni and Lumba’s family head, Victor Kofi Owusu Banahene, accusing them of sidelining her in funeral arrangements.
She sought an injunction to stop the burial scheduled for December 6, 2025, which was dismissed, but her case seeking official recognition as Daddy Lumba’s only surviving wife remains pending, with Odo Broni filing a counterclaim.
Throughout the legal battle, Papa Shee has sided with Akosua Serwaa, attending court proceedings and condemning Odo Broni and her supporters.
