Goalkeeper Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro has been ranked the fourth-best young shot-stopper in the world by the CIES Football Observatory, underlining his growing reputation in European football.

The AZ Alkmaar goalkeeper sits behind Mike Penders, Jonas Urbig, and Robin Risser in the global rankings, which assess emerging talents based on performance data and potential.

Owusu-Oduro has enjoyed a solid campaign, making 36 appearances across all competitions. During that period, he conceded 46 goals and kept 13 clean sheets, highlighting his consistency between the posts for the Dutch side.

His performances have not gone unnoticed, with the 20-year-old continuing to attract attention as one of the brightest young goalkeepers in Europe.

Eligible to represent Ghana internationally, Owusu-Oduro is in contention for a place in the Black Stars squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, providing a potential boost to the national team’s goalkeeping options.
