The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that all is set for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), which is scheduled to take place from Wednesday, June 11 to Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra, on Monday, June 9, 2025, the Director-General of the GES, Professor Ernest Kofi Davies, disclosed that over 60,000 candidates will sit for the 2025 examination.

“A total of 603,328 candidates, made up of 297,250 males and 306,078 females, are expected to take the examinations. This number is made up of both school and private candidates. Both school and private candidates will answer the same set of questions. School candidates will take the examinations in their respective exam centers. However, private candidates are expected to take the examinations at Tema, Gambaga, and the regional capitals,” he stated.

He cautioned the candidates against engaging in examination malpractices.

“Examination malpractice does not help the system to accurately measure the performance of the student. Once students are cheating their way through, it’s difficult to ascertain how well our education system is performing.

“We are appealing with all to support us to fight examination or practice. Invigilators and supervisors who are caught aiding exams or practice will be severely punished,” he stated.
