Dr Mahamudu Bawumia receives massive endorsement from NPP Members of Parliament Dr Mahamudu Bawumia receives massive endorsement from NPP Members of Parliament

Former Vice President of Ghana and the 2024 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has asked Members of Parliament of his party to, with immediate effect, start working towards the next elections.

Over 60 NPP MPs paid a courtesy call on Dr Bawumia on Thursday, June 20, 2025, and declared their support for him to be re-elected as the party’s flagbearer into the 2028 elections.

The former Vice President couldn’t hide his excitement as the MPs’ move sent strong positive signals that he is the right candidate to lead the NPP.

Speaking to the media after the visit which he described as very “significant”, Dr Bawumia was thankful for MPs’ gesture.

He urged them to work harder together to help the NPP stating “there is a lot of hard work to be done to help the country and to help the country”.

Dr. Bawumia’s impressive track record, his clean campaign last year, clear vision for Ghana, principled character, and unwavering commitment to improving the lives of citizens are among the key factors that have endeared him to the Members of Parliament.
