Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has handed debut call-ups to four players in a 26-man squad announced for Ghana’s upcoming international friendlies against Austria national football team and Germany national football team later this month.

Defenders Derrick Luckassen, Patrick Pfeiffer, and Marvin Senaya, together with forward Daniel Agyei, have all earned their first senior national team invitations as Ghana intensifies preparations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Luckassen, who plays for Pafos FC, developed through the academy of AZ Alkmaar and has previously featured for clubs including PSV Eindhoven, Hertha BSC, RSC Anderlecht, Kasımpaşa S.K., Fatih Karagümrük S.K., and Maccabi Tel Aviv F.C. The center-back recently helped Pafos win the Cypriot league title and scored the club’s first-ever goal in the UEFA Champions League.

Senaya, a right-back with AJ Auxerre, previously played for RC Strasbourg Alsace, FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, and FC Lausanne-Sport, making his professional debut in 2021.

Daniel Agyei, who operates as a forward and winger for Kocaelispor, began his career in England and has played for Leyton Orient F.C., Crewe Alexandra F.C., Oxford United F.C., and Burnley F.C. before moving to Turkey. Pfeiffer currently features for SV Darmstadt 98 in Germany.

The squad also sees the return of key players including Iñaki Williams, Ibrahim Sulemana, Thomas Partey, and Alexander Djiku.

Goalkeepers called up are Lawrence Ati-Zigi (St. Gallen), Benjamin Asare (Accra Hearts of Oak), and Joseph Anang (St. Patrick’s Athletic).

Defenders include Pfeiffer, Luckassen, Derrick Köhn (Union Berlin), Jerome Opoku (Istanbul Basaksehir), Caleb Yirenkyi (FC Nordsjaelland), Kojo Oppong Pepprah (OGC Nice), Jonas Adjetey (VfL Wolfsburg), Senaya, Djiku, and Gideon Mensah (Auxerre).

Midfielders selected are Partey (Villarreal), Elisha Owusu (Auxerre), Sulemana (Cagliari), and Kwasi Sibo (Real Oviedo).

The forwards and wingers include Brandon Thomas-Asante (Coventry City), Jordan Ayew (Leicester City), Prince Adu (Viktoria Plzen), Christopher Bonsu Baah (Al Qadsiah), Abdul Fatawu Issahaku (Leicester City), Inaki Williams (Athletic Bilbao), Antoine Semenyo (Manchester City), Kamal Deen Sulemana (Atalanta), and Agyei.

Ghana will face Austria in Vienna on March 27 before travelling to Stuttgart to take on Germany on March 30, 2026. The matches form part of Ghana’s preparations ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
