Ga Mantse (L) thanked Otto Addo (R) for recognition after World Cup qualification

The technical team of the Black Stars, led by head coach Otto Addo, paid a visit to Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, to express their gratitude following Ghana’s qualification for the 2026 World Cup.

Prior to the Black Stars’ qualifying matches, the head coach had visited the traditional ruler to seek his support and prayers for a successful campaign.

We have been chasing some players, but they don’t pick our calls – Otto

After achieving their goal, Otto Addo and members of his management team paid a courtesy call on the Ga Mantse at his Palace on October 16, 2025, to thank him for his blessings and continued support.

The coach expressed appreciation to the ruler for his unwavering encouragement and urged him to continue supporting the team as they prepare for the tournament.

“I would like to thank you for welcoming us. Surely, after you gave your blessing to me, to the entire team, and to my family, I had to come back to give thanks to you, to receive your blessings again, to play on your land, and to deliver on your land.”

“So, your victory is also our victory. We are very blessed to receive your blessing, and we’re very happy that we could deliver for you, for Ghana, and for all the people of this country. We truly thank you for your support,” he said in a viral video shared on X.

Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare and Technical Advisor Winfried Schäfer, and Addo’s mother were also present at the gathering.
