Osuman Abubakar has been overwhelmingly approved as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Fanteakwa North, following a decisive vote by the district’s Assembly members. Out of 41 members, 37 cast their votes in favor of his nomination, securing a significant 92% majority.

The assembly session saw Abubakar receive strong bipartisan support, with only three votes against him and one absentee. His confirmation came as no surprise to many observers, given his commitment to community engagement and local development.

In his inaugural address, Abubakar expressed heartfelt gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for entrusting him with this pivotal role. “Let me set the record straight: this is not the time to claim victory. Rather, it is time for us to reflect on the hydra-headed challenges confronting the good people of Fanteakwa North,” he said. “We must work together to navigate through them and bring relief to our people.”

Emphasizing a collaborative approach, Abubakar described himself as a team player, inviting ideas and strategies from Assembly members and residents alike. “My doors are open to all who are passionate about the development of Fanteakwa North,” he stated, highlighting his commitment to inclusivity.

Local Assembly member Jane Owusu praised Abubakar’s leadership style. “He has always been approachable and ready to listen. I believe under his leadership, we can address the pressing issues facing our district,” she noted.

Abubakar concluded his address by pledging to uphold the responsibilities of his office diligently and in accordance with the Local Government Act, 2016 (Act 936). His affirmation marks a renewed hope for progress in the district, as the community looks forward to collaborative efforts that address their needs.

As Fanteakwa North embarks on this new chapter, residents and stakeholders are eager to see how Abubakar’s leadership will shape the future of their community.
