The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has conducted high-profile searches in its ongoing investigation into the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) gold trade programme, which is alleged to have caused a loss of US$94 million to the State.
The raids took place at the Trassaco residence of Nana Yaw Duodu, also known as Dr Sledge, and at the East Legon offices of Goldridge Company Limited, under warrants issued by the High Court in Accra.
Nana Yaw Duodu is facing scrutiny for “suspected corruption and corruption-related offences linked to the MIIF gold trade programme,” the OSP confirmed.
In a post shared via X on October 29, 2025, the OSP said its Asset Recovery and Management Team seized “luxury vehicles, jewellery, weapons, and documents relating to landed properties” during the operations.
Meanwhile, the investigation remains ongoing.
Background
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) recently arrested Nana Yaw Duodu, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Goldridge Refinery Limited, who is reportedly a suspect in one of its ongoing investigations.
Nana Yaw Duodu, popularly known as Dr Sledge, was arrested on September 30, 2025, over suspected corruption and corruption-related offences linked to the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF), particularly regarding the management of its gold trade programme.
Reports indicate that the State lost over US$94 million due to Goldridge’s alleged failure to fulfil its obligations in trade transactions under the Gold-for-Forex and Gold-for-Oil initiatives.
The CEO was detained after he reportedly failed to meet bail conditions.
It can be recalled that the OSP, in its half-year report, listed the MIIF investigation as one of its high-profile cases.
The probe covers payments linked to Agyapa Royalties, small-scale mining initiatives, lithium and gold projects, board expenditures, land acquisitions, and related contracts between 2020 and 2024.
