Oro Mensah is a former WWE star

Swiss-Ghanaian WWE star, Oro Mensah, born Oliver Sauter, has been released by WWE as part of the company’s latest wave of roster cuts.

The 29-year-old wrestler, known for his electrifying style and charisma, confirmed his departure in an emotional message on social media.

“Fifteen years of hard work and true sacrifice to make it to WWE. I always gave 110% and put my whole passion and body into the art form of pro wrestling. Thank you for all the support! Love y’all,” the post read.

Mensah joined WWE in 2019, initially competing under the name Oliver Carter on the now-defunct NXT UK brand, where he captured the NXT UK Tag Team Championship, alongside Ashton Smith.

In 2022, he transitioned to NXT in the United States and was rebranded as Oro Mensah.

Most recently, he was part of the Meta-Four faction with Noam Dar, Lash Legend, and Jakara Jackson.

His final WWE appearance came just days ago on NXT, where the group amicably parted ways on-screen, a moment that now feels like a quiet foreshadowing.

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, to a Swiss father and a Ghanaian mother, Mensah was raised in Zürich and pursued wrestling with relentless dedication across European circuits before breaking through in WWE.

His recent stint on the Evolve brand and growing fan support pointed to momentum, but his release brings an abrupt end to a journey that symbolised resilience and cross-cultural pride.
