Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku has reportedly become a transfer target for South African giants Orlando Pirates, according to AfricaSoccer.
The Ghanaian forward is being considered ahead of the summer transfer window, with his representatives reportedly working to secure a move to one of South Africa’s top three clubs.
Opoku has displayed strong form in the Ghana Premier League and is believed to be ready for a new challenge outside the country.
Sources close to the player indicate that he is open to a move and would welcome the opportunity to play in a competitive league like the South African Premier Division. His camp believes he has the quality to make an impact if placed in the right environment.
Having previously had a short stint abroad with USM Alger, Opoku returned to Asante Kotoko and has since become a key part of their attack. The forward has scored seven goals in 14 games in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
While no official approach has been confirmed yet, discussions are expected to continue as the transfer window draws closer.
