Ghanaian rapper Opanka has made a remarkable return to music with the release of his new Extended Play (EP), Renewed Ego.

Known for his lyrical sharpness and emotional depth, Opanka delivers themes of growth, resilience, and self-awareness with unrivalled honesty on this six-track EP.

Renewed Ego blends hard-hitting lyricism, melodic rhythms, and vivid storytelling, exploring personal struggles, societal pressure, and the desire to evolve without losing one’s roots.

Speaking in an interview with GNA Entertainment, Opanka described the new EP as a reflection of his artistic evolution and expressed hope that fans would embrace his new outlook.

According to him, the EP is more than just music—it’s a statement marking a refreshed mindset, a matured voice, and renewed energy that he believes will resonate with listeners.

“We all know ‘ego’ literally means a person’s sense of self-esteem or self-importance. My current mindset and sense of self are an improved version of who I used to be, which has led me to make more conscious music. Even though my previous songs reflected this, the approach now is more refined and renewed,” he said.

Opanka also expressed his excitement about the resurgence of rap music in Ghana and the genre’s growing quality, calling it a positive sign of greater things to come.

Now streaming on all digital platforms, Renewed Ego is a must-listen for music lovers. The award-winning rapper has also released a visualizer for “Soba Freestyle,” one of the standout tracks from the EP.
