Hundreds of fans, friends, and family gathered at Black Star Square on Saturday, August 30, 2025, to commemorate the one-week observation of Ghanaian highlife legend Daddy Lumba.

The ceremony was filled with emotion and musical tributes as attendees paid their last respects to the highlife icon.

Prominent personalities from the entertainment industry and other sectors were also present to honor the life and legacy of the “Makra Mo” hitmaker.

Daddy Lumba, born Charles Kwadwo Fosu, passed away earlier this month after a prolonged illness.

His music career spanned over four decades, producing timeless highlife hits that influenced generations.

The one-week observation is the first of several events planned to celebrate the late Daddy Lumba’s life.
