Captain Planet has stated that another hit could earn King Promise another TGMA nod Captain Planet has stated that another hit could earn King Promise another TGMA nod

Ghanaian musician Captain Planet, a member of the now defunct music group 4×4, believes King Promise stands a chance of securing another Artiste of the Year nomination at next year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), if he follows up with another major hit.

In a post shared on his official X account, Captain Planet stated that with the spotlight now on King Promise, all e will be on his next move.

“If King Promise comes with some monstrous hit again, it’s likely that he can be nominated AOTY next year because now the spotlight is on him and everybody will be keeping up with whatever he has going on,” he wrote.

He also noted that the same logic applies to the other nominees who were in the Artiste of the Year category, suggesting that any of them could return to the top if they deliver impactful music in the coming year.

“Same applies to the other AOTY Nominees,” he added.

King Promise won four awards at the 26th TGMAs; Best Afropop Song, Best Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste, Best Album/EP of the year and Artiste of the Year.

Although he came close to winning the Artiste of the Year award in 2024, it eluded him and Stonebwoy took home the prize.

But King Promise came back stronger securing 10 nominations for the 26th TGMAs including the coveted Artiste of the Year.
