    On September 27, 2025, Chile will welcome the very best U-20 footballers as FIFA’s landmark youth competition gets under way.

    FIFA U-20 World Cup Chile 2025 starts one month today, Twenty-four nations will head to South America looking for global glory. A host of the game’s biggest stars have graced the finals over the previous 48 year.

    In one month’s time, 24 nations will meet in Chile to battle it out for FIFA U-20 World Cup™ glory in the competition’s 24th edition.

    Since the inaugural event at Tunisia 1977, some of the best players the sport has to offer have passed through the tournament’s gates.

    Diego Maradona dazzled in Japan two years later and paved the way for Lionel Messi, Thierry Henry, Roberto Carlos, Luis Figo, Ronaldinho, Andres Iniesta, Luis Suarez, Antoine Griezmann, Kaka and more to kick-start their careers on the world stage.

    Africa will be represented Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria and South Africa at the championship scheduled from September 27 to October 19 in Chilean cities of Santiago, Rancagua, Valpraiso and Talca.

    Ghana’s historic triumph in 2009 remains the only title by an African team in the history off the tournament since its inception in 1977.
