Ghanaian artiste, Olivetheboy, has tipped Team Eternity Ghana as his choice for Artiste of the Year at the forthcoming 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).

Despite being in the same competitive space as the nominated acts, Olivetheboy made it clear that he is choosing another contender, even outside the secular music space.

“Today I’m feeling very religious, very, very religious. I won’t choose people in my circle. I’ll go with Team Eternity, however it goes,” he stated in an interview with Doreen Avio on Hitz FM.

Olivetheboy’s endorsement of the gospel group surprised the pundits on the morning show, especially given the heavyweight contenders in the category, including King Paluta, Stonebwoy, King Promise, Black Sherif, and Joe Mettle.

Meanwhile, himself is nominated in multiple categories at this year’s event.

His hit song Asylum is up for Most Popular Song of the Year, where it competes with major hits like Aseda by King Paluta, Paris by King Promise, Very Soon by Fameye, January 9 by Black Sherif, Lomo Lomo by KiDi, and Puul by Lasmid.

In the Songwriter of the Year category, Olivetheboy faces stiff competition with Asylum, going up against Can I Live by Ayisi, Saman by Kofi Kinaata, No Competition by Okyeame Kwame, and Team Eternity’s Defe Defe.

He is also vying for Afrobeat Artiste of the Year, a category that includes Camidoh, KiDi, Mr Drew, King Promise, and Lasmid.
