Oliver Glasner could not be tempted to discuss the notion of winning Crystal Palace‘s first trophy despite clinching a place in the FA Cup semi finals – but admitted he will savour the prospect of leading his team to Wembley Stadium.

The Austrian has been on three previous occasions. He saw England against Belgium last season and was there to see Eberechi Eze score his first international goal against Latvia on Monday.

Glasner also dropped off his daughter to see Taylor Swift perform at Wembley but opted against forking out for an expensive ticket to a concert he did not want to see.

‘I don’t want to talk about winning the trophy because even in the next game we can’t win it,’ said the Palace boss.

‘It’s just the semi-finals and in a cup competition, it doesn’t matter if you lose in round one or the semi-final, you enter the competition to win it.

‘But, yes, it is a great achievement to reach the semi-finals, and especially in this environment, because it’s at Wembley and this is typically English, and I like it.

‘It’s big and all three times I was there I always went by tube, and I like the Wembley Way. It’s great when you’re leaving the tube and see the arch, and all the fans walking. It’s what I love.’

Eze set Palace on the way to Wembley. He scored the first and created the second for Ismaila Sarr to put them in control against Fulham and substitute Eddie Nketiah added a layer of comfort with the third in a 3-0 away win and set up an exciting finish to the season.

‘It’s the start of crunch time,’ said Glasner, who won the Europa League as Eintracht Frankfurt boss in 2022, the year Crystal Palace were last at Wembley in the FA Cup semis.

‘In the Premier League we have opportunity to enter the top half. Hopefully, we have 12 games to play, and we have good momentum, with the players in good shape and over next two months we hope to, stay together and win many games.’
