O’Leary was relentless and Hughes had no answer for holding him off. There was a noticeable swelling under the right eye of Hughes at the time of the surrender. With the win, O’Leary picks up the vacant IBO super lightweight title, improving his record to 19-0, 11 KOs. Hughes falls to 29-9-2, 6 KOs.
