Bill Belichick‘s family allegedly felt ‘relief’ after learning he has split from Jordon Hudson – but it is claimed they still hold ‘concerns’ over her involvement in his life.
The legendary former New England Patriots head coach, now in charge at the University of North Carolina, secretly split with Hudson late last year, according to TMZ.
The couple made headlines with their 49-year age gap romance, with Hudson a regular figure alongside Belichick at public events and around the UNC Tar Heels football team since he took the college job.
But despite several public appearances and posts in 2026, it recently emerged that they supposedly split late last year, though Hudson, 25, remains ‘committed to their business partnerships’ and the pair ‘remain close friends’, per the TMZ report.
According to Page Six, Belichick’s family is relieved he is no longer dating the cheerleader, though they still have questions over her role in his professional life.
‘There’s definitely a sense of relief now that Bill and Jordon have split, but the family’s concerns haven’t completely gone away,’ a source told Page Six.

‘Bill’s family never really had an issue with the age difference between him and Jordon. Their concerns were more about how involved she had become in his professional life.’
They added that Belichick looped her in on all ’emails, management decisions and other business dealings, and that made his family uncomfortable.’
‘They understand she’s still very involved in his business affairs, but they don’t really know the full extent of her involvement, how much say she has or exactly what responsibilities Bill has given her.
‘They’re not accusing her of doing anything wrong, but there’s still some uncertainty about what her role looks like now that they’re no longer together.’
Belichick was asked about the reports his relationship with Hudson was over at a UNC press conference this week.
‘Do you work for a tabloid now?’ Belichick snapped back in a biting tone.
The sullen eight-time Super Bowl winner added: ‘I’ll keep my personal comments and relationships to myself if that’s alright with you.’
He addressed Hudson’s involvement in his business affairs and the UNC program in a rare interview with the Wall Street Journal in September before news of their shock split was leaked.

He called suggestions she is involved in all aspects of his job a ‘flat-out lie’ and hit out at ‘ridiculous’ suggestions about her influence.
‘I had a lot of other things going on when I took the job,’ Belichick told the WSJ. ‘So, I sent an email when I got here and I said, ‘Can you please forward any requests to Jordon about my personal appearances so that I can work and coordinate them outside the university?’.
‘Didn’t have anything to do with the university. Well, that was leaked and released as ‘Jordon’s involved in every single thing that I do and she’s copied on every email.’ That’s just a flat-out lie.’
‘The way the story was picked up was a long way from that,’ he added. ‘Like, ‘She’s trying to be the general manager of the team.’ And it’s so ridiculous.
‘There are some things that she helps me schedule or look at. It’s not North Carolina stuff.’
