An old video showing alleged illegal mining kingpin, Iddrisu Zakari, popularly known as Yaayaa, spraying large sums of cash on the late Daddy Lumba has resurfaced, following his recent arrest.

The video, captured during a performance at the De Ofosu Plaza Hotel in Koforidua on an Easter Saturday, showed Iddrisu dancing on stage and showering wads of cedi notes on the late Highlife legend as he performed one of his classic songs.

Reports suggested that he splashed over GH₵20,000 during the encounter, with many members of the audience rushing onto the stage to grab the scattered cash.

Iddrisu was arrested on November 10, 2025, by operatives of the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Squad (NAIMOS).

He was apprehended for his alleged involvement in illegal mining activities within the Osino Residential Area.

According to investigative journalist Erastus Asare Donkor, Iddrisu was arrested after agreeing to meet NAIMOS operatives to negotiate the release of his detained thugs and to push for a halt in investigation into his activities.

His arrest followed a raid conducted by NAIMOS on November 7, 2025, during which his alleged galamsey site was shut down.

Two Nigerian nationals and four armed Ghanaian guards were also picked up during the operation.
