Ghanaian rapper Okese 1 has challenged Kwaku Smoke’s claim that his song ‘Bombele’ is currently the biggest song in Ghana.

The exchange started after Kwaku Smoke took to X to boast about the success of his song ‘Bombele’, describing it as the biggest song in the country.

Kwaku Smoke made the declaration while sharing a snippet of his energetic performance at the second edition of Sarkodie’s Rapperholic Homecoming concert, which took place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

The rapper was seen entertaining the massive crowd at the concert, with the footage showing fans gathered in front of the stage as he delivered his performance.

Alongside the performance footage, Kwaku Smoke wrote, “Na God Dey Run Am 🙏 Biggest Song In the Country 🔥.”

However, his statement quickly got a challenged from Okese 1 who reacted to the post and questioned the claim.

In a response shared on his own X account, Okese 1 quoted Kwaku Smoke’s post and wrote, “That’s a lie lil bruh … Don’t come too Close is … Check the numbers ….”

The rapper attached a YouTube link to his response, apparently directing attention to the performance of his own song, ‘Don’t Come Too Close II’, which features DarkoVibes, Sista Afia and Joey B.

A check by Zionfelix.net on YouTube shows that Okese 1’s ‘Don’t Come Too Close II’ had amassed more than 1.5 million views, while Kwaku Smoke’s ‘Bombele’ had recorded approximately 666,000 views at the time of the check.

The figures put Okese 1’s song ahead in terms of total YouTube views, despite both songs having been released roughly a month earlier.

It should be however noted, YouTube views alone do not necessarily determine which song is the biggest in the country. Radio airplay, streaming figures across different platforms, audience engagement and chart positions can also contribute to a song’s overall performance.

For now, the exchange between the two rappers has brought renewed attention to both songs and sparked a debate over which artiste has the stronger release.

Whether Kwaku Smoke will respond to Okese 1’s challenge remains to be seen, but the numbers shared by the latter have added an interesting twist to the discussion surrounding the success of ‘Bombele’ and ‘Don’t Come Too Close II’.
