Nigerian rappers Odumodublvck and Blaqbonez are locked in a heated online exchange over who truly reigns supreme in the rap game.

What began as a subtle verse in a newly released song has since escalated into a full-blown social media spat between the two artistes.

The tension started with the June 20, 2025 release of ‘Who Is Rapping’ by Nigerian rapper A-Q, which features Blaqbonez.

Though no names were explicitly mentioned, many listeners believed the track contained veiled shots at other rappers in the industry.

In hip-hop culture, such subliminal jabs are not uncommon and are often seen as part of the genre’s competitive spirit.

Shortly after the song dropped, Odumodublvck took to X, posting a series of cryptic but strongly worded messages that many interpreted as responses to the track and its featured artiste.

“Tell that old fool that Odumodu is really rapping,” he wrote.

In another post, he added: “Who vex smiggle?”, a reference seemingly aimed at mocking someone, likened by fans to Gollum from The Lord of the Rings.

He later tweeted: “A-FOOL”, a post fans took as a play on A-Q’s name, interpreting it as a direct insult.

Odumodublvck didn’t stop there. He continued posting indirect shots, including:

“There’s a rapper who made a deal they can’t get out of and is now trying to use my name to sell records.”

Although no name was mentioned, fans widely assumed it was a dig at Blaqbonez.

As the back-and-forth heated up, fans encouraged Odumodublvck to take the beef to the studio. But he dismissed the idea with: “Make Kendrick go dey battle Ace Hood.”

This was interpreted as him saying Blaqbonez is not on his level, likening any rap battle between them to a mismatch. “I no dey do rap beef with una,” he added, clarifying that he had no interest in engaging in a diss-track battle.

Blaqbonez subsequently enters the fray.

Rather than responding directly at first, Blaqbonez took a subtler approach.

He went on X to congratulate Olamide on his new album, praising the veteran rapper’s consistency and career longevity.

When a fan replied, expressing hope that Blaqbonez wouldn’t die soon, he took the opportunity to slide in a pointed remark: “Them say them go kill me, but I don record enough for 3 more albums. No fear, because rap actually hard for some people.”

This appeared to be a veiled response to Odumodublvck’s earlier comments.

Odumodublvck replied directly, referencing their 2024 collaboration ‘Technician’: “If rap hard for me, your last hit no go dey with me. I am everything you want to be, nigga.”

He implied that Blaqbonez’s last major hit was made possible through their collaboration.

Blaqbonez kept things cool, tweeting, “Been hot since I stepped into the game. Everlasting taker.”

Odumodublvck shot back, accusing Blaqbonez of relying on his record label to remain relevant, “You are not taking anything, nigga. You are using your label. Nobody book you for shows anymore. Me replying you is what you need for your career. And I’ll give you that, because you’ve got mouths to feed.”

Blaqbonez then challenged Odumodublvck to settle the matter musically rather than through tweets.

He accused Odumodublvck of complaining to event organisers and drew a comparison to Kendrick Lamar, implying that true rap legends take their battles to the mic, not social media.

“Enter studio & get tf out my mentions. This no be Twitter warfare. And stop calling the show industry crying about me. No be so Kendrick Lamar dey do. Hip-hop legacy,” he said.

But Odumodublvck remained firm in his stance, refusing to take the beef into the booth.

“You want to make it about studio. Na lie. We go meet again for street. You know the level. This is not a rap beef. Na me and you for this world,” he said.

Blaqbonez went quiet after that, not posting again on the issue.

Odumodu, however, continued to post more comments, though they weren’t as direct.

As for A-Q, he didn’t respond to Odumodublvck directly either, but he did share this message, which many believe is related to the situation.

“It’s funny how one verse can fxxk up the game,” A-Q added.
