Pastor Odumeje is back in the conversation, and this time it has nothing to do with miracles or spiritual warfare. The self-styled “Indaboski” has waded into the ongoing national debate around DNA testing, and his position is exactly as provocative as you would expect from him.

In a video that has since spread across social media platforms, Odumeje came out firmly against the practice of DNA paternity testing, arguing that it goes against the grain of Igbo cultural values. His position is straightforward: any child born within the bounds of a marriage should be received and raised as the husband’s own, no questions asked, no lab results required.

But he did not stop there. Odumeje also took a swipe at the reliability of DNA testing facilities in Nigeria, suggesting that the results coming out of local laboratories cannot be fully trusted. It is a claim that raised more than a few eyebrows, given how many families have leaned on such results to settle deeply personal disputes in recent times.

The video has predictably set off a wave of reactions online, with opinions split sharply down the middle. Some agree with his cultural standpoint, while others argue that science does not bend to tradition and that men deserve accurate answers when paternity is genuinely in question.

This is not the first time Odumeje has courted public debate with an outspoken take, and judging by the reaction to this one, it certainly will not be the last.
